IVCCD Gentle Student Center

Iowa Falls, IA

This small but growing campus saw the need for a new, student-oriented facility that would better serve the current student population and be a tool for bringing new students to the college. The building is situated on the northern edge of its site and with three other existing buildings, it defines an open green space, or "central campus." The main facade faces south with a brick and stone colonnade that directs students to the entrance. The ground level contains student activity and dining spaces, with administrative offices and student services on the upper floor. A two story space at the heart of the building opens to a waiting area on the second floor with a vaulted ceiling and circle top window overlooking the newly defined green space.
