This is a typical Carnegie original design that was renovated. A two story addition was designed to wrap around the sides and back of the library. Atlantic Library received a Historic Preservation Grant and frk worked with State restrictions. The final design restored the fine character of the original building. The addition respects the original building without copying the design. A new entry to the south accommodates an elevator providing handicap access throughout. The interior of the original building retained its character while opening to the addition for smooth circulation. The upper floor remains as the adult library and the lower floor houses the children's library and meeting rooms.
