The existing Ogden Middle School consisted of an old three story 1915 building and a poured-in-place concrete gym with classrooms and storage below. A multi-phased addition and renovation project was started in august 1998 which replaced the classrooms in the existing three story building and added specialty spaces such as a larger media center, technology, art, music, and consumer sciences. The new classrooms were designed with the "house" concept grouping the 5th and 6th and 7th and 8th into two teams.

The project was staged in phases so the school could operate in their existing facility during construction. Phase one consisted of 80% of the new building addition and was completed in December of 1999. The Owner then moved out of the old three story into the new addition. The old building was demolished and built in it's place was the office, cafeteria and kitchen areas.

The concrete gym building was renovated with new locker rooms on the lower level and a refurbished gym on the upper level. An exterior plaster coating system was used on the gym exterior to improve the appearance and make it water tight.
