The Iowa State Patrol is in the process of updating all of their regional headquarters statewide on a site-by-site basis. This addition to their facility in central Des Moines was designed to include new offices for the State Patrol and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, facilities for officers to work, holding rooms for potential criminals, evidence holding and storage, and areas for clerical work.
In this location, the building was designed by the Division of Design & Construction, under the Iowa Department of General Services, but FRK was hired to complete the structural engineering and to assist with construction administration.
