The city of Red Oak has long been home to one of the most beautiful classic public libraries in Southwest Iowa. But as the city has grown, the need for expanded facilities has become greatly apparent.

FRK is currently working on exploring possibilities for expansion of the existing library. Some of the unique challenges faced by this project include respecting the architectural heritage of the existing structure, connecting to the downtown community through the design of both indoor and outdoor civic spaces, working on an expansive site, and developing a relationship between the library and the historic facade of the county courthouse that sits across the way.
