Iowa Lakes Community College developed the need for a new central office complex, and wished to combine this with a new campus entrance. After studying several locations, the new facility was situated between two existing buildings located at the heart of the campus. The addition serves to connect these classroom facilities and includes student activity areas as well as the central office complex for the entire college, providing the central focal point for students, visitors and staff.
The large office complex employs a combination of private perimeter offices and conference rooms along with central open office space for maximum flexibility. A series of waiting areas are dispersed strategically within each division. In addition, the complex can be accessed from the main circulation core through a series of retractable windows for daily high volume use. The complex utilizes a completely networked wiring system that connects students and staff with the entire campus as well as other Community Colleges throughout the state.
