This project called for combining a college library and city library, while maintaining separate identities. The two are connected to a physical education/recreation center with a public indoor swimming pool and senior center.

The main entrance is a vaulted canopy leading to a rotunda point between the library complex and the wellness center. Similarly, a vaulted lobby through the wellness center provides access to fitness rooms, racquetball court, gymnasium/meeting room, and natatorium.

A complementary vaulted ceiling separates the city and college libraries, crowns a shared computer lab, and culminates at a reading area, taking advantage of diffuse northern light. The rotunda provides easy access to the senior center, distance learning classrooms, and community conference room. The entire building is equipped with the latest audio, visual, computer technology, and serves as the center for community and college distance learning.
